Darren Aronofsky’s 1998 film «PI» follows the story of Max Cohen, a young mathematician on an obsessive quest for the universal language of mathematics. Inspired by the film’s surreal aesthetic – black and white images and rapid, almost schizophrenic cuts – I used the original script and film stills to recreate the cinematic experience within a book format. The book experiments with various textual formats and visually references the original work.
